"Lifestyle Stewardship" demonstrates the process of
reassessing our lifestyles and reordering our priorities for the
purposes of reallocating our resources for the work of God.

What is it?
It's over and above giving after a spiritual path, where
you set your heart on accomplishing heavenly things.
Financial priorities then take shape from spiritual goals.
"Lifestyle Capital Stewardship" is a phrase that describes
a level of giving that affects one’s living. The challenge is to find
ways, boldly and prayerfully, to let your giving touch your living.
"I will not offer unto God that which costs me nothing"
2 Samuel 24:24
King David understood that the gift that would touch the
heart of God must first touch the life of the giver. David knew
that only a sacrificial gift could please God.
This isn’t new to you...,
During special times, we all reassess how we manage our
money for lifestyle goals, such as purchasing a home, buying a
car, sending a child to college, starting a new business, and/or
renovating our homes. Lifestyle Stewardship calls us to
prayerfully and strategically examine every aspect of our
finances in order to bring a gift to God in the same manner as
we plan financially for ourselves. It challenges us to bring a
sacrifice to further Christ’s work; a sacrifice that reflects our
love for Christ and our understanding that absolutely
everything we have was given by Him and belongs to Him.
Is it a call to poverty or to abandon important
financial plans?
No, but it is a solemn call to make changes in your
lifestyle, for a limited period of time, in order to give
substantially to the important task before us.
It is not about the money!
The campaign is a walk of faith, prayer, and personal
consecration. It includes serious financial considerations,
and primarily involves a spiritual endeavor of each person
to find and fulfill God’s Will in their life in relation to the
future of our church. No one will be coerced or
manipulated – the adventure is an intense personal effort
to enthusiastically commit to God’s Will for our church
and your own personal life.
When you fast (it is not about the food), it's about
spiritual growth and lining up with God’s will for
your life.

Likewise, we should seek spiritual growth as we sacrifice
financially. Each of us is asked to thoughtfully consider
what portion of the shared goal we will assume. Although
we may vary in our ability to give, our willingness to
sacrificially do our part as God has equipped us should be
uniform and unanimous.
When you sacrifice finances to further the work of
God (it is not about the money), it's about spiritual
growth and lining up with God’s will for your life. |
