What are New Member Classes?
The New Member orientation class is a 6 week course that prepares new members with a general overview of The Life. In the course we discuss the vision of the church, church authority, tithing principles and The Life’s core beliefs; and provide a spiritual gift assessment. Unless otherwise specified, classes are held each Sunday 8:00am – 8:45am at The Life. After completing the course members will receive a new members certificate of completion and be encouraged to join one of The Life’s ministries. The course includes the following six classes:
Week 1 – Spirit of the Pastor
Week 2 – Church Authority/Church Discipline
Week 3 – Kingdom Giving
Week 4 – What We Believe Part 1
Week 5 – What We Believe Part 2
Week 6 – The Importance of Being Spiritually Employed
Why You Should Complete New Member Classes
New member classes are important because they help new members understand the mission, vision and values of The Life. After completing classes, new members will feel more a part of The Life community and will also be able to participate in ministry. There is currently no childcare for new members classes. Children can attend with you.
Being baptized with water is a demonstration of our commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. Full emersion water baptisms are held the fourth Sunday of each month. If you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior and have not been water baptized you should register for the Baptism Orientation Class to be held the Saturday before the baptism.
